Joe has more than 34 years of broad HR experience in a wide variety of industries and varying economic environments, including high growth, turnarounds, industry retrenchment, international, mergers, acquisitions, and spinoffs. He has a track record of success working with CEOs and boards of directors to build exceptional HR functions, reshape corporate culture, and establish robust talent management systems.
Joe worked for Pepsi Co in a variety of HR generalist and specialist roles
before transferring to Pizza Hut, where he worked in both domestic and
international operations culminating in his appointment as Chief People Officer
of Pizza Hut. He then served as the CHRO for Tenet Healthcare, Centex Homes,
Joe is currently the principal of HB Consulting providing HR consulting and executive coaching. He sits on the board of Pizza Hut of Ft. Wayne and the advisory board of MD Insider. Joe is a Fellow in the National Academy of Human Resources. He started his professional career after graduating from Cornell University's Industrial and Labor Relations School.
Paul previously served as co-leader of Allegis Partners’ North America CEO & Board Practice. He also is a Partner Emeritus of legal search firm Major, Lindsey & Africa, where he conducted General Counsel and other senior-level searches for over a decade. Paul is an experienced board director currently serving on the board of directors of Compass Minerals, Inc., a publicly traded company, where he is also the Compensation Committee Chairman. Paul is the President of the Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). He is the former Lead Independent Director of State Auto Financial Corporation, the former Compensation Committee Chairman of Bob Evans, and the former Nominating and Governance Committee Chairman of Essendant. Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa and Allegis Partners, Paul served as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Secretary of Cardinal Health, Inc., a Fortune 20 healthcare services company.
Paul graduated, cum laude, from Harvard and received his J.D. from Yale Law School. He speaks frequently on diversity-related issues and has been recognized by national publications as one of the country’s most influential diverse directors and most influential diverse lawyers.
