Carolyn Frey serves as Philz Coffee’s Chief People Officer leading recruiting, learning, HR for fast growing San Francisco-based coffee chain. In addition to those responsibilities, Carolyn also leads strategic partnerships, wholesale and marketing, as well as serves as the key advisor to the CEO and founder.
Prior to Philz, Carolyn was a Managing Director at Corporate Executive Board (CEB) for 15 years. Over her career there, she led account management teams, managed the firm’s largest client accounts and re-located to SF to open & lead the first office outside of DC. She was the General Manager of the West Coast market and the SF office for the last seven years. CEB is a leading provider of research based guidance and human capital analytics to Fortune 500 companies and beyond. Carolyn received many awards during her time at CEB, most notably a company wide award for Stewardship of Exceptional Talent (out of 4,500 employees), top coach award and a company wide award for Innovation.
